The house that was chosen with the heart

I am entrusted with a dream home.
A beautifully renovated house in authentic Sardinian style.
The owners truly put their heart into it.
Every detail was created with care, love and respect.

It is an authentic stazzu, a house over one hundred years old.
Here lived the grandparents.
And before them, the grandparents of the grandparents.
Generations have left quiet but meaningful traces.

The house is located in the historic center of Talavà.
Narrow streets, houses close to one another.
Here, neighbors know everything about each other.
They see everything.
And they look after one another.

When this house is entrusted to me, I fall in love immediately.
At the same time, I know it will not be easy to sell.
Many people look for space, distance, and proximity to the sea.
This house, instead, asks for presence and sensitivity.

I begin my work:
preparing listings, photos and videos.
I tell the story of the house as it truly is.

One day I receive an email from a German couple.
They have fallen in love.
Not with numbers or distances, but with the soul of the place.

They tell me about the fireplace on the ground floor,
which has seen countless family evenings.
About the traditional Sardinian bed in the bedroom.
About the pellet stove next to it.

There is only one problem:
they cannot come to see the house in person.

I worry.
How can this work?

But for them, the decision is already made.
They want to “adopt” the house.
They say they have seen everything through my photos and videos.
And above all, they trust me.

We schedule the deed of sale.
I arrive with my heart in my throat.
What if they are disappointed?

Instead, something wonderful happens.
They thank me again and again.
They say it was the best decision of their lives.
They are extremely happy.

And I am even happier than they are.

The trust they gave me is priceless
and reminds me every day why I love this work.

Even today, whenever they spend their holidays here, they come to visit us.
They have made friends.
They have become part of the village.

And that is when I think:
how beautiful life is, when a house truly finds the right people.
